Rockstar recreates Grand Theft Auto radio stations as iTunes and Spotify playlists

Rockstar Games has made it easier than ever for fans of the Grand Theft Auto series to listen to the tunes that populate the virtual airwaves of the series' radio stations. The developer has replicated the stations from seven games (and two episodes) in the GTA franchise on Spotify and iTunes as playlists. Playlists built from the many radio stations featured in Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, Grand Theft Auto 4 and Episodes from Liberty City are available from Rockstar's official website. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City coming to PSN Jan. 29

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City will be available for PlayStation 3 as part of PlayStation Network's PS2 Classics on Jan. 29, Rockstar Games announced. "Ever since the releases of San Andreas for PSN and Vice City on iOS and Android, we've received more than a few requests from the community wondering when they'd be able to touch down at Escobar International and return to the neon-lit streets and sun-splashed shores of Ocean Beach on their PS3," the announcement post reads. "Today we can confirm that it won't be long now..." Vice City fans can also pick up the recently released remastered EP for Love Fist, one of the game's fictional bands. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City will be available for $9.99. The game will also be available in Europe on Jan. 30 for £7.99.

Grand Theft Auto band Love Fist's EP available on iTunes now

A remastered EP of Love Fist, the self-titled creation from Grand Theft Auto's fictional Scottish heavy metal band, is available for purchase now on iTunes, Rockstar announced via its official site. The band's "1986" four-track Love Fist EP sells for $1.99, with individual songs priced at $0.69. The EP features "Dangerous Bastard," "Down Down Down," "Fist Till Morning" and "Fist Fury." Love Fist made their debut in Vice City, where protagonist Tommy Vercetti chauffeurs and assists band members Jezz, Willy, Dick and Percy with various tasks. The Love Fist EP is expected to arrive on Amazon as well in the coming days.

Rockstar breaks down the urban world of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

In the third and final part of a behind-the-scenes look at Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, which Rockstar Games released today, the company focused on the making of Vice City itself. Videos and images offer a glance at exterior and interior environments for some of Vice City's most notable buildings, such as the Cherry Popper Ice Cream Company's factory and the Malibu Club, from wire frame models to in-game renders. Other videos include wire frame versions of entire sections of Vice City, along with images to show off the finished product, and models of vehicles like the trusty Maverick helicopter and the '50s-style Hermes sedan. Rockstar offering printable maps from original GTA trilogy

Grand Theft Auto players in need of a map from the original trilogy can download high-resolution printable copies directly from Rockstar Games' website. Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas are all available in their original forms; each copy is the same poster design that accompanied the games at release. According to Rockstar, the maps are a "friendly service for everyone downloading the Vice City Anniversary Edition release for mobile devices and navigating their way around the beaches, mansions, nighclubs, glitz and ghettos of Vice City." Posters for San Andreas are a nod to the game's PlayStation Network release just last week, while Grand Theft Auto 3 is available now for Android and PSN.

Rockstar goes behind the scenes of Vice City's animation, sound and design

Rockstar Games is releasing a three-part series of behind-the-scenes videos and slideshows that the developer produced a decade ago to showcase Grand Theft Auto: Vice City's animation, sound and city design, according to a post on the developer's blog. The first in the series, which Rockstar created in 2002 when London's Design Museum honored the open-world game, focuses on motion capture, character progression from concept art to the in-game polygons and the animations of Tommy Vercetti, the game's protagonist voiced by Ray Liotta. The two remaining parts will be released "quite soon," according to the blog post. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City 10th Anniversary released recently on iOS and Android. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas could be out on PSN soon according to Hong Kong listing (Update)

The PlayStation Store in Hong Kong has put up a listing for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for the PlayStation 3 and a release date of Dec. 12, 2012, which suggests that the game might be hitting the PlayStation Network in the U.S. soon. Both Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and San Andreas were listed on the Entertainment Software Ratings Board for a PS3 release in North America earlier this year although developer Rockstar Games has not made an official announcement about if or when both games will be available on the PlayStation 3. GTA Radio app lets you listen to almost every station in the series

A new Grand Theft Auto app for Android devices lets users listen to nearly every radio station made available throughout the long-running series. Grand Theft Auto Radio features radio stations from the Grand Theft Auto 3, GTA Vice City, GTA Liberty City Stories, GTA Vice City Stories, GTA San Andreas and GTA 4. According to its product description, GTA Radio will play in the background while you use other apps. Missing radio stations from GTA 4 will be added to the app soon. GTA Radio can be accessed for free on the Play Store.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City 10th Anniversary Edition launches Dec. 6 on iOS, Android for $4.99

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City 10th Anniversary Edition, Rockstar Games' touch-controlled port of its '80s-Miami-themed open-world title, will be available on iOS and Android devices on Dec. 6 for $4.99, the company announced today. According to Rockstar, the mobile title includes improvements such as better character models and lighting effects, better shooting mechanics and customizable controls. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City pulled from digital PC stores due to licensing issue with music

The PC version of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was pulled from digital stores today after it was found that the game's music posed certain licensing issues, according to reports by Game Informer and CinemaBlend. The song in question appears to be Michael Jackson's Wanna Be Startin' Something, which plays on the game's 105 radio station. Rockstar did not confirm if this was the song at the center of the licensing issue, but a spokesperson confirmed that the PC version of the game would be temporarily removed from digital stores and will be made available again "as soon as possible." This is not the first time music licensing issues have affected a Grand Theft Auto game.
