Injustice: Gods Among Us dev on ease of developing for PS4

Injustice: Gods Among Us was released this past April on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U. This week, just seven months later, developer NetherRealm Studios is releasing an Ultimate Edition of the DC Universe fighting game on those current-generation consoles as well as on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. Representatives for the studio told Polygon today that a major factor in that relatively short lag time was the relative ease of developing on PS4. "At NetherRealm, we loved the PS3. Like, I know some devs really didn't like the SPUs [synergistic processing units, the hardware architecture of the PS3], but we have a tech team that spent eight years really perfecting that thing. Injustice: Gods Among Us on Vita feels like a faithful port

Injustice: Gods Among Us is on its way to PlayStation Vita in an Ultimate Edition, and Armature Studio's handheld translation of NetherRealm Studios' work seems like it will satisfy players looking for a shrunken-down version of the DC Universe fighting game. We played a couple of Injustice matches on PS Vita during New York Comic Con, and the action was just as smooth as you'd hope it would be in a fighting game. A developer from Armature Studio told Polygon that the studio's goal was to deliver the same visual quality on PS Vita as in the console versions (screenshot above) — including a frame rate of 60 frames per second — and the company was able to make it happen. The models for characters such as Batman, Bane, Flash and Zod looked fine but not great when seen up close in...

Injustice: Gods Among Us developers still working on delayed balance patch

The next patch for Injustice: Gods Among Us has been delayed for more fine tuning, developer NetherRealm Studios said during a livestream session for the title, reports Shoryuken. The patch, original set to launch today alongside new downloadable character Zatanna, will further tweak the balance of the game's playable characters. According to Shoryuken, NetherRealm said the reason for the delay is because the patch needs some final polish before it's ready for players. This patch is now slated to drop sometime over the next few weeks. NetherRealm Studios launched previous gameplay patches for Injustice: Gods Among Us alongside its downloadable characters, with the exception of Martian Manhunter, who was released without a patch.
