Joe Danger dev 'obsessed' with ensuring Vita ports match originals

Joe Danger developer Hello Games believes the PlayStation Vita will allow it to deliver the full console experience of Joe Danger and Joe Danger 2: The Movie on a handheld, said managing director Sean Murray today. According to Murray, the hardware features of the PS Vita — its processing power, screen and controls — mean that Hello Games can make both Joe Danger games work on the system. "Vita is really important to us to keeping the quality of the Joe Danger console games' graphics, and having them run at 60 frames a second," said Murray in an email to Polygon. "That smoothness is super-important to Joe Danger, so we're pretty much obsessed with making sure the Vita versions match up to it." In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Murray added, "We're aiming for Joe [Danger] on Vita to...

At its Gamescom conference yesterday, Sony introduced a significant price cut to both its models of PS Vita and showed off the machine's Remote Play feature with a PlayStation 4 demo of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. Tellingly, Sony won't release sales numbers of PS Vita, though there's no doubt that it falls into the "niche" category, a long way away from its maker's mass-market aspirations. But the machine is adding to its list of benefits, seeking to emulate the success of its predecessor, the PSP. Despite strong...
