The first Lego Batman had issues to rival the Dark Knight himself. It was the first stumble in Lego's cute, kid-friendly line of brand reinventions, tripped up by bland level design and a lack of iconic scenes to draw from for the series' trademark dialogue-free humor. I swore off Lego games for the next few years after Lego Batman. PlayStation Plus subscribers will get free access to games such as Towerfall Ascension, Strider and Dead Space 3, Sony Computer Entertainment announced via the PlayStation Blog and PlayStation Blog Europe. Towerfall Ascension is the critically acclaimed PC and console version of the popular Ouya game, which includes new levels and characters. PlayStation 4 owners will also be able to grab action title Strider from Double Helix Games, which was released earlier this year. The PlayStation Vita Lego Mega Pack is headed to Europe this spring with bundles of six Lego games, according to a post on the European PlayStation Blog. European customers can get download codes for the games by purchasing memory cards or a PS Vita handheld. The PS Vita Lego Mega Pack with an 8 GB memory card will retail for €44.99, while a 16 GB version will retail for €49.99. A PS Vita bundle with a memory card will retail for €199.99. The bundles include download codes for Lego Batman: The Videogame, Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7, Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, Lego Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game and Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars. All Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment games have been discounted to $0.99 in the iOS App Store and will remain on sale throughout "this week," according to a press release from the publisher. According to WBIE's App Store listing, $0.99 games include Bastion, Batman: Arkham City Lockdown, Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters, Happy Feet 2: Erik's Adventure, Harry Potter Spells, Lego Batman 2: DC Superheroes, Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4, Lego Harry Potter:Years 5-7, Man of Steel, Midway Arcade, Scribblenauts Remix and Tapper World Tour. Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is coming to Wii U this spring after originally launching on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita and Windows PC last year, publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today. The Wii U release will integrate the console's GamePad, allowing players to navigate through Gotham City using an enhanced interactive map. The GamePad will also allow players to assemble their team of characters using the GamePad's touchscreen. Off-TV mode will also be available so players can experience the game without the need for a television screen. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is now selling two packs of Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes add-on characters that were formerly exclusive to pre-order customers. Each content pack unlocks various characters for use in the game's Freeplay mode. The "Heroes" pack brings Nightwing, Katana, Shazam, Zatanna, and the new Robin — Bruce Wayne's son, Damian Wayne — into the fold. Bizzaro, Captain Cold, Black Adam, Black Manta, and Gorilla Grodd are the baddies included in the "Villains" pack. San Diego Comic-Con 2012 will mark the first public hands-on in the US with the Nintendo 3DS XL, the company announced today. Nintendo is supplementing its booth on the show floor (#5135) with a Nintendo Gaming Lounge, which will be located in the San Diego Ballroom of the Marriott Marquis & Marina Hotel, right next door to the convention. The Lounge is open to the public — you don't even need a Comic-Con badge to get in. Wii, 3DS, and DS games will be shown at Nintendo's booth and in the Lounge, but curiously, the company will not have the Wii U — which is due out this fall — available to play.
