Limbo coming to iOS July 3, lifetime sales top 3 million copies

Limbo developer Playdead is bringing the macabre platformer to iOS July 3, and the game's lifetime sales for the platforms it's currently available on have eclipsed 3 million copies, the studio announced today. The iOS version — which will support iPad 2 and up, iPhone 4S and up, iPad mini and the latest-generation iPod touch — will cost $4.99. According to Playdead, development of the iOS port involved "rethinking the controls and performing extensive optimizations to ensure an amazing touch-based experience." The PS Vita version, which launched earlier this month as a $15 Cross-Buy title, does not feature touch controls.

Limbo on PS Vita supports cross-buy with PS3

Puzzle platformer Limbo for PlayStation Vita is cross-buy compatible with PlayStation 3, developer Playdead announced today in a press release. As with all cross-buy titles, players need only purchase Limbo once to obtain a license for both the Vita and PS3 versions, the latter of which launched last year. The title will be available in Europe tomorrow for €12.99 (£9.99). Limbo was announced for PS Vita during the 2013 Game Developers Conference in March. Playdead co-founder and CEO Dino Patti said the Vita port would not feature touchscreen controls because it would require the studio to "rethink the game." "We're not using any touch," Patti said. "We didn't feel it would suit Limbo at...
