The latest Humble Bundle packs seven impressive indie titles — Hotline Miami, Awesomenauts, Dear Esther, Proteus, Capsized, Thomas Was Alone and Little Inferno — into one pay-what-you want package for Windows, Mac and Linux. Humble Indie Bundle 8 also includes six soundtracks, featuring the music of each PC game included in the bundle, save for Hotline Miami. Two of the featured games, Hotline Miami and Proteus, are available only to those who pay more than the average purchase price for the package. Currently, the average is hovering around $5.66. The seven games included in Humble Indie Bundle 8 are cross-platform and DRM-free. Little Inferno, a game about children burning their toys for warmth, is coming to iPad on Thursday Jan. 31 after originally releasing on the Wii U and PC, the developers announced on the game's website. The result of a collaboration between the developers of World of Goo and Henry Hatsworth, Little Inferno tasks players with throwing their most prized possessions into a fireplace in order to stay warm on a planet that is freezing over. Developer Kyle Gabler said back in December that the game was inspired by the Yule Log TV program, which is the burning log that can be found on TV during winter time in hotel rooms. The soundtrack for Little Inferno, the Yule log-inspired fireplace simulation game from the developers of World of Goo, is now free to download, according to a post on the developer's website. "I'm a big fan of movie music from the 80′s and 90′s — like John Williams (1993 was his most amazing year), Danny Elfman's 90′s heyday, Vangelis in the early 80′s — all with strong melodic themes and instantly identifiable orchestration," composer Kyle Gabler wrote in the post announcing the free soundtrack. "It was my goal with this soundtrack to write music that sounded like it could have been written in that time of VHS tapes and Stan Winston special effects, with clear, hummable melodies for each character and theme."
