Focus Home Interactive has released a new video giving an overview of the story and basic systems in its upcoming downloadable RPG Mars: War Logs. Jehanne Rousseau, CEO of development studio Spiders, introduces viewers to the world of Mars. A century after the Martian colonists were isolated from Earth, water has become a precious resource and a main source of conflict. Protagonist Roy Temperance's guild Abundance has been defeated by its rival Aurora, and he is now a war prisoner. Roy is given the opportunity to escape and finds himself in a hostile, inhospitable environment where the Sun's radiation burns and mutates those out in the open. Roy can loot serum from the bodies of defeated foes, says Rousseau, but other colonists won't look kindly upon a cold-blooded killer. Mars: War...

Publisher Focus Home Interactive shared a new trailer today for action role-playing game Mars:War Logs introducing the game's combat system, detailing the various abilities players can learn and the rare yet powerful weapons available to them on the Red Planet. The trailer above can be thought of as a survival guide, providing players with fair warning of the dangerous native beasts roaming Mars and how to combat them. Experience points earned during battle can be distributed to the players' liking across three different skill tress, also introduced in the above video. Players will be able to tailor their fighting style to specialize in certain areas like close-quarters melee or ranged combat. A new teaser trailer for Mars: War Logs, a third-person action role-playing game by developer Spiders, features a walk around the red planet with protagonist Roy "Temperance." Mars: War Logs is a "short story" about a renegade that takes place more than a century after catastrophe strikes Mars. Now, power is given to companies who distribute water, the planet's most valuable asset. The trailer doesn't reveal much about the game, besides offering a glimpse at its futuristic setting and combat. Spiders has already revealed that players will be able to craft their own weapons. Gameplay also includes developing Roy's combat style by choosing perks such as stealth and trickery, Technomancer powers or pure combat. Dialogue choices will be offered as well.
