A new Marvel Heroes trailer comes from Gazillion alongside the announcement that this weekend will be the last open beta test for the upcoming online action title in advance of the game's June release. The trailer shows off the mighty Thor, Norse god of thunder and founding member of the Avengers superhero group. Players will be able to outfit Thor in a variety of different costumes from his long and storied comic book career. For fans of the Marvel cinematic universe, there will also be an outfit resembling his appearance as played by actor Chris Hemsworth in the Thor and Avengers films. Marvel Heroes, Gazillion Entertainment's upcoming free-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing game, will have its first open beta this weekend and add Iron Man to the list of playable characters, according to a recent post on the game's official website. Beginning Friday, May 3 at 10 p.m. ET and continuing through Monday, May 6 at 7 a.m. ET, Gazillion will open the game to all who register this week on the Marvel Heroes website. Playable characters this weekend will include Avengers members Captain America, Black Widow, Thor, Hulk and, in celebration of Iron Man 3's upcoming theatrical release, Iron Man. Marvel Heroes, Gazillion Entertainment's free-to-play massively multiplayer online game set within the Marvel universe, will feature a continually growing story, according to the latest developer diary. Players will adventure through different locations in the Marvel universe as they work to stop Doctor Doom from destroying the world with the Cosmic Cube. Although the game will first drop small clues about his plans, events will eventually build upon the larger plotline. "We chose [Doctor Doom] because he not only is the most iconic Marvel villain, but he's also a character that would be able to put together a plan as elaborate as the story in the game," chief writer Michael Bendis said.
