The past month or so has been rife with announcements that certain games and companies will not have a presence at E3 this year. GTA 4, Bully, more Rockstar titles 70 percent off at Newegg

Digital versions of a bunch of older titles from the Rockstar Games catalog, including Grand Theft Auto 4 and Bully, are currently on sale at Newegg for upwards of 70 percent off. Former Epic Games president joins Remedy Entertainment's board

Former Epic Games president Mike Capps joined the board of Finnish developer Remedy Entertainment, it was announced today on the studio's website. Capps retired from Epic Games in December 2012 after 10 years with the company, but stayed on its board of directors until February 2013 when he announced that he was no longer affiliated with the studio. Today, Remedy CEO Matias Myllyrinne announced that both Capps and F-Secure president Christian Frederikson are joining Remedy's board of directors in a bid to "strengthen [its] board" as the games industry goes through a transitional stage. Dokuro free on PS Plus, Max Payne 3 discounted

PlayStation Vita exclusive Dokuro joined the PlayStation Plus' Instant Game Collection today, which means those with PlayStation Plus memberships can now download the game for free. In addition, PixelJunk Monsters: Ultimate HD, which launches this week and is also a PS Vita-exclusive, is being discounted for PS Plus members. The regular price is $14.99 — PS Plus members will be able to pick it up for $11.99. On the home console side, Max Payne 3 for PlayStation 3 is being heavily discounted from $39.99 to $9.99 — PS Plus members get an additional discount, bringing the price down to $7.99. On August 6, Battlefield 3 will leave the Instant Game Collection, and discounts on Thomas Was Alone: Benjamin's Fight and Ibb and Obb Preorder will end.


Max Payne, Grand Theft Auto iOS and Android games on sale

The iOS and Android versions of Max Payne and three Grand Theft Auto titles are now on sale through July 30, publisher Rockstar Games announced today. Max Payne usually costs $2.99 but is currently available for $1.99, a 33 percent discount, on both the iTunes App Store and Google Play. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars — a non-universal app that launched on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad in 2010 for $9.99 — is available for $2.99 on all three platforms, a 70 percent discount (iPhone/iPod touch, iPad). Grand Theft Auto 3 and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City are also on sale for $2.99 each, 20 percent off their regular price of $4.99, on iTunes (3, Vice City) and Google Play (3, Vice City).


Max Payne 3 graphic novel collection coming Oct. 22

Max Payne 3: The Complete Series, a hardbound collection of comics based on Rockstar Games' gritty shooter series, will be available Oct. 22 from Titan Books. The $9.99 print version of the comics that are available free online spans the story of the series, "from his troubled childhood, to his successes as a young police cadet, to the brutal murder of his wife and child, to the death of his partner, to his ignominious dismissal from the NYPD, to the chance encounter in a Hoboken dive bar that propels him on an ill-fated journey to the streets of São Paulo," according to a post on Rockstar's website. The Warriors hits PSN May 28

The Warriors, a 2005 beat-em-up from Rockstar Games, will arrive on the PlayStation Store May 28, according to a post on the PlayStation Blog. The $9.99 PlayStation 3 version will launch as a PS2 Classic. Based on the 1979 film of the same name, the game sees players fighting through the streets of New York after being framed for killing a rival gang leader. Originally developed by Rockstar Toronto, it was released for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PSP. The Warriors will join other Rockstar titles on the PlayStation Store like those from the Grand Theft Auto series and Manhunt, which was released last week. Other Rockstar PS2 classics on the PlayStation Store include Bully, Max Payne and Midnight Club: Street Racing.


Germinator and Pinball Arcade come to PS Plus Instant Game Collection May 21

Two new games will join the PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection next week, according to the PlayStation Blog: Germinator (PS Vita) and Pinball Arcade (PS3 and PS Vita, Cross-Buy enabled). On May 21, PlayStation Plus members will be able to pick up both Germinator and Pinball Arcade for free, while non-members can buy them individually for $9.99 on the PlayStation Network. As of tomorrow, the Metro: Last Light Season Pass (PS3), which is a discounted pre-payment for future Metro DLC that includes The Faction Pack, The Tower Pack, The Developer Pack and The Chronicles Pack, will also receive a 25 percent discount for PS Plus members, bringing it down to $11.24 from the regular PSN price of $14.99.
