Konami has released a new trailer alongside the launch of its "Jetstream Sam" DLC for Platinum's Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
A prequel to Revengeance proper, "Jetstream Sam" follows the titular Samuel Rodrigues as he battles the Desperado organization using all the tricks of the cyborg warrior trade. It expands Sam's backstory and gives context to his actions and motivations in the main storyline. The DLC also includes a set of the series' customary VR Missions in which players can tackle timed challenges as Sam.
"Jetstream Sam" is available now for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Metal Gear fans have created a video imagining how cyborg ninja Raiden's daily routine might begin.
The Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance star begins his day with a healthy dose of WD-40 to his cybernetic limbs, keeps himself in shape with hundreds of pushups, and slices fruit for a smoothie the only way he knows how.
Created by filmmaker and VFX artist Freddie Wong, the video features voice work from Raiden's actual voice actor, Quinton Flynn.
Update: Correction, the video was created by Brandon Laatsch. It is hosted on Freddie Wong's YouTube channel.
Sony has released a short trailer showing off the 30 VR missions available as PS3-only DLC for Platinum's Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
We saw much of this footage several days ago with the Japanese-language trailer, but some parts, like the fixed-turret battle sequences, are new. Interestingly enough, there's no mention of the "Snake Soul" sword that Raiden can equip to be accompanied by the spirit and voice of Solid Snake.
The DLC pack comes out today, and is free until April 3rd for PS3 owners in North America, while it is multiplatform (but must be purchased) in Europe.
Konami has released a trailer for the first DLC pack for Platinum Games' Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, showcasing an obtainable sword that speaks with the spirit of Metal Gear hero Solid Snake.
The DLC will add 30 additional Virtual Reality missions to the game, including both traditional combat scenarios starring cyborg ninja protagonist Raiden, and more platform-based missions starring the quirky three-armed Dwarf Gekko robots.
Perhaps most appealing to long-time Metal Gear fans is the addition of a special sword, the Hebidamashii (lit. "Snake Spirit"), a wooden katana that, when equipped, will allow the disembodied voice of Raiden's mentor Snake to comment on the events of the game. In the trailer, Snake compliments Raiden when the player is fighting well, and asks if he's all...
Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima delivers a nearly seven-minute launch trailer for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, the game co-developed by Kojima Productions and Platinum Games.
Kojima's signature style is on display in what may be Revengeance's final trailer, with a heavy dose of wordplay interspersed between footage from throughout the game. Viewers should be mindful of minor spoilers, as Kojima's cut takes footage from key boss fights and cut scenes, which is then set to music from composer Thomas Bergensen.
