Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance review: blood and thunder

In Revengeance, the alert sound is a call to action Set after the events of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Revengeance sticks Metal Gear Solid 2 lead Raiden in the middle of a globetrotting battle with the flamboyant supersoldiers of Desperado Enforcement, uncovering a bizarre military conspiracy. Initially unprepared, Raiden finds himself personally invested in taking down Desperado and its politically connected backers. While providing some narrative context to Raiden's background as a child soldier, Revengeance also realizes the gameplay possibilities of his transformation into a cyborg ninja. In a lot of ways, it's the antithesis of the stealth-based Metal Gear games of the past. Previous Metal Gear heroes Snake and Big Boss were known for their ability...

Players will also be able to download the game's Cyborg Ninja Armor Skin, the Fox Blade White Armor Skin and Inferno Armor Skin, as well as downloadable content Jetstream and Blade Wolf. Kojima Productions producer Yuji Korekado recently said that Revengeance was not released in Japan on the Xbox 360 because the console isn't popular enough in the region. Earlier this month, franchise creator Hideo Kojima announced that the Metal Gear Solid: Legacy Collection would not be released for Xbox 360 due to Metal Gear Solid 4's data size.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance didn't release on Xbox 360 in Japan because console isn't popular enough

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance never released to Xbox 360's in Japan because the console simply isn't popular enough in that region, Kojima Productions production Yuji Korekado said while speaking on the HideoBlog podcast. The decision not to bring the title to the Japanese Xbox followed last year's slow sales in 360 consoles throughout the country. Xbox 360 has always struggled to sell across Japan despite its impressive sales numbers elsewhere. "Around last year, Xbox 360 sales didn't really grow [in Japan]," said Korekado. Projected sales for the Xbox 360 release of Revengeance across Japan were far lower than those expected to sell on PlayStation 3. "Bwah? I thought [after seeing the projected figures]," Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima said on his podcast. "And if we did release...

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance writer on future DLC and how the story got shifted years into the future

Yuji Korekado, the producer who led the Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance project on the Kojima Productions side, has always spoken about the "frustration" he felt when KojiPro wasn't able to complete the project on their own, instead tapping Platinum Games to help them out. If it was frustrating for Korekado, imagine how rough it was for Etsu Tamari, chief story writer for both Revengeance and the original Metal Gear Solid Rising, originally a completely different tale. As Tamari told Famitsu magazine this week, the original Rising was set in between Metal Gear Solid 2 and MGS4. "It was a comparatively darker game than the one we have now," he said. "one where you'd be rescuing Sunny from the hands of the Patriots. The start and end of the tale are already set in stone, of course, so it...
