The Circle Pad Pro add-on for Nintendo 3DS XL is now available for pre-order in North America through ShopNintendo, the official online store for Nintendo of America. While no official announcement has been made about its availability, Nintendo's online store lists the accessory at $19.99. The Circle Pad Pro, which adds a second analog circle pad and additional shoulder buttons, is expected to ship beginning Friday, April 19. Nintendo announced the extra-large Circle Pad Pro add-on last summer, shortly after the announcement of the Nintendo 3DS XL itself. The device was released in Japan on Nov. 15, 2012, and is compatible with select 3DS games, including Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Resident Evil: Revelations, Metal Gear Solid 3D Snake Eater and Kid Icarus: Uprising. A title update for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate announced earlier this year will be released April 15 in North America, according to a post on Capcom Unity. The title update will bring off-screen play to the Wii U, allowing gameplay on the tablet-like GamePad alone, as well as matchmaking between U.S. and European players. The update will go live April 15 at 8 p.m. ET. Capcom revealed the patch in late February, saying it was created "in response to community feedback." Nintendo UK has taken to Twitter to apologize for the region's shortage of stock for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. In a series of tweets from the company's official account, Nintendo of Europe president Satoru Shibata noted that the "high demand" for the games have resulted in limited availability at retail and online. He added that new stock for the Wii U version will "hopefully" be available in stores next week, while the 3DS version is expected to be more widely available around the middle of this month. Capcom's PAX East attendance this weekend will feature games like Capcom Arcade Cabinet, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and more, including "maybe an additional surprise or two," according to a press release from the company. The Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Data Transfer Program and the Packet Relay Tool will be available on the Nintendo eShop by Friday, March 22, Capcom anticipates. "We sincerely apologize for the delay and appreciate that eager fans are looking forward to the feature set offered by the two apps," Capcom Unity community liaison Greg Moore wrote on the official site. Capcom says that it is working with Nintendo to roll out the apps as soon as possible. most of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate's fights are the equivalent of boss battles It's all pretty basic fantasy game setup, but Monster Hunter sets itself apart in the process of taking down these beasts. While some smaller enemies exist, most of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate's fights are the equivalent of boss battles. These boss encounters aren't short fights in a closed-off arena. I battled a giant raptor for 20 minutes as it fled across whole zones. It called in friends for backup and attempted to rest to restore its vitality. There was no health bar floating above the creature's head, so I had to judge my progress on observations. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Capcom's upcoming online multiplayer action role-playing game, is significantly larger in scope than the original Monster Hunter Tri, and a recent post on Capcom Unity shows the expansion using a bit of comparison. In addition to several new monsters and a new final boss, the upcoming title culls monsters from the PSP's Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. The game also features three new areas, 211 new quests, 2,042 new pieces of equipment including swords, blades, hammers and more as well as 1,028 new armor pieces, bringing the total equipment count to 3,061 pieces. Capcom will patch the Wii U version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate in April to unlock cross-region play between gamers in North America and Europe, the company announced today. The decision was made "in response to community feedback," said Capcom in a press release announcing the title update. Capcom previously said Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate's multiplayer servers would be region-locked, a decision that drew a harsh outcry from Monster Hunter fans. The patch will also enable off-TV play on the GamePad. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate launches March 19 in North America and March 22 in Europe on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Capcom has released demos for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U versions of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate through Nintendo's eShop, the publisher announced today. Included in the demos are two full quests โ one aimed Monster Hunter newcomers, one for "intermediate hunters" โ and 12 weapons. Players will battle Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate's version of Lagombi and Plesioth. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate allows players to play local multiplayer across 3DS and Wii U. The full version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be released for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS on March 19 in North America. The game comes to Europe March 22.
