Mortal Kombat X will have guest characters, but Batman won't be one of them

Speaking to Polygon at the Evo 2014 Championship Series this past weekend, Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon said that guest characters are almost a certainty. It's working out for us, and I'd be surprised if we ignored those numbers." Since Scorpion performed so well in his appearance in Injustice, I asked if one of Injustice's DC Comics superheroes might make its way over to Mortal Kombat X. The answer was an unequivocal no. Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition coming to PC July 3 digitally, Aug. 6 at retail

The "Komplete Edition" of NetherRealm Studios' Mortal Kombat will be available on Windows PC this summer, publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today. A worldwide digital release is set for July 3, while a physical retail version is scheduled for Aug. 2 in Europe and Aug. 6 in North America. The Komplete Edition, which was released in February 2012 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, comes with all the downloadable content that NetherRealm released for the game. That includes four additional characters — Skarlet, Kenshi, Rain and Freddy Krueger — as well as classic fatalities for Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Reptile and classic...

Mortal Kombat, Skulls of the Shogun, Strider and more spotted in Steam database

Apparent listings cultivated from Steam's Content Description Record database show a handful of unannounced titles and PC ports bound for Steam, including versions of Mortal Kombat, Skulls of the Shogun and Pinball FX 2. While the Steam CDR database manages to keep titles of unannounced titles well-hidden (with names like "ValveTestApp217140"), achievement data and images scraped from Steam and SteamDB — unearthed by a handful of NeoGAF forum members — reveals content for certain Steam games not currently listed for Valve's platform: Deadpool, Mortal Kombat, and Skulls of the Shogun. Other listings point to more speculative but surprising releases, including possible listings for The King of Fighters XIII, Castle of Illusion and Strider. Art for a rumored Strider game was discovered...
