NBA 2K13/MLB 2K13 Combo Pack launching March 5 for $79.99 on Xbox 360, PS3

NBA 2K13 and the upcoming MLB 2K13 will be bundled into a $79.99 "Combo Pack" that launches March 5 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, publisher Take-Two Interactive announced today. They are the two remaining sports games released annually under the 2K Sports label. MLB 2K13, which also launches March 5 on Xbox 360 and PS3, will be available for $59.99, so the Combo Pack gives 2K Sports fans two full games at a $40 discount. 2K Sports did the same thing last year, with an MLB 2K12/NBA 2K12 Combo Pack. That package was available only on Xbox 360, and sold for $69.99. The $10 price increase this time around can be attributed to NBA 2K13, which still sells for its full retail price, $59.99; by the time 2K Sports announced the 2012 Combo Pack a year ago, the price of NBA 2K12 had dropped to...

NBA 2K13 Wii U developer diary discusses 'Gatorade biometric scan' feature on GamePad

NBA 2K13 on Wii U will utilize the console's GamePad controller to display information about players, including a real-time "Gatorade biometric scan" feature, according to a new developer diary. The video, posted above, details how this latter feature works: By pointing the GamePad at the television screen, the player can see a real-time depiction of the athletes, which displays information about their fatigue levels over a live feed of the game. When not using the licensed scan, the GamePad will display information about the player that's currently handling the ball. NBA 2K13 will launch on the Wii U alongside the console on Nov. 18.
