1 CommentJapan Review Check: Fist of the North Star, PlayStation All-Stars
By Kevin Gifford on Jan 23, 2013 01.23.13
Here's a quick summary of the console titles coming out next week in Japan, courtesy of the review pages of Famitsu magazine. Famitsu reviewers are known for generally awarding the same scores for games released across multiple platforms. However, for whatever reason, this isn't happening with Wii U third-party releases. Batman: Arkham City, Assassin's Creed III, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Ninja Gaiden 3 are among the Wii U games that scored one or two points below the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions in Famitsu's review pages - a fact that definitely hasn't gone unnoticed among gamers in Japan. No specifics were given about what position both men will be taking, although early speculation from fans suggests that one or both could take over for former Capcom employee Seth Killian. Killian, fighting expert, EVO Championship Series co-founder and former community manager left Capcom USA in June of this year to join Sony Santa Monica Studios. He is currently the lead designer on PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

By Michael McWhertor on Dec 04, 2012 12.04.12
The first batch of downloadable content for crossover brawler PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will be steeped in PlayStation fan service both new and old. Two downloadable fighters, Kat from PlayStation Vita game Gravity Rush and Emmett Graves from PS3 game Starhawk, will be added to the roster in early 2013 along with a new stage that's part Heavenly Sword, part Wipeout. We recently had a chance to play with an early alpha build of that new PlayStation All-Stars content at an event at Sony Santa Monica Studios, going a few rounds with Kat and Emmett on the stage that's a bizarre, medieval fantasy meets sci-fi mash-up. In PlayStation All-Stars, Kat's fighting techniques stay true to her combat in Gravity Rush, focusing mainly on kicks. Kat's a heavy rushdown character, director...
