Rayman Legends launching on 360, PS3 and Wii U Sept. 3 in North America (update)

Rayman Legends will be available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U on Sept. 3 in North America, in European territories on Aug. 29 and in the U.K. on Aug. 30, Ubisoft confirmed with Polygon today. In February, Ubisoft announced the game was no longer a Wii U exclusive and would be published to PS3 and Xbox 360 as well. The company decided to delay the release of the Wii U version to fall 2013 so all three versions could launch simultaneously. After fan backlash over the delay, Ubisoft announced a second Rayman Legends demo exclusively for Wii U owners, as well as exclusive access to the Online Challenges mode in April. In a video message, the game's creators stated the response to the delay "definitely hurt" but allowed time to add more levels, characters and boss fights. The...

Previously a Wii U exclusive, Rayman Legends is currently slated to launch for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as well in September.
