Take-Two reports 76 percent jump in Q3 revenue led by NBA 2K13 sales

Take-Two announced strong results today for the third quarter of its 2013 fiscal year, reporting a 76 percent year-over-year increase in net revenue led primarily by 4.5 million units shipped of NBA 2K13. For the quarter ending Dec. 31, 2012, Take-Two tallied net revenue of $415.8 million, a 76 percent jump over the $236.3 million of revenue for the same period in 2011. Net income for the quarter increased by 399 percent to $70.9 million from $14.2 million. According to Take-Two, the three "strongest contributors" to revenue in the quarter were NBA 2K13, Borderlands 2 and catalog sales of games including Grand Theft Auto 4 and Red Dead Redemption. Borderlands 2 helps drive Take-Two's 155 percent jump in net revenue

Strong sales of Borderlands 2, Grand Theft Auto 4 and Red Dead Redemption helped drive Take-Two's net revenue to more than $273 million for its second quarter, which ended Sept. 30. Rockstar Games Collection confirmed, Edition 1 coming November 6th

Rockstar Games Collection: Edition 1, a four-game bundle of Rockstar's greatest hits which was leaked yesterday, has been confirmed for release next month by the developer. The package includes a foursome of games from the studio, including Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City — a package which includes GTA 4's two sidestories The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony — L.A. Noire, Midnight Club: Los Angeles Complete Edition, and Red Dead Redemption. The bundle has a suggested retail price of $59.99, and will launch on PS3 and Xbox 360 on November 6th in North America. Rockstar teams up with Technicolor to create animation unit

Rockstar Games and Technicolor are joining forces to create a high-end art and animation team, announced Technicolor. The digital production studio has already worked with a number of major clients, including DreamWorks, Square Enix, EA, and Sony. Technicolor's studio in Bangalore, India, did work with Rockstar previously on games such as Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3. Bungie hires former Red Dead Redemption developer for Destiny

Gameplay designer Danny Bulla of Red Dead Redemption fame has joined Bungie on its latest project, Destiny, reports GamesRadar. Few details are currently known about Bungie's newest IP, but the company has announced that the game will be an open-world, sandbox title. According to a mail sack post, the team "liked Red Dead Redemption so much that we hired Danny Bulla to come here and help us fill your next sandbox." "[Bulla]'s done some amazing work and, so far, he hasn't tried to lash any of us to a pair of railroad tracks," reads the post.
