The UEFA Champions League final is set for the end of May, and Sony, a sponsor of the league, will set up a special area at the four-day UEFA Champions Festival with playable PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita titles, the company announced today. The free Champions Festival will run from May 23-26 at The International Quarter in London's Stratford City, close to the location of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Sony will set up an area called the PlayStation Stadium, giving fans hands-on time with already available and upcoming titles including the PS3 titles Sports Champions 2, Puppeteer and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, and Tearaway on PS Vita. Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, the fourth entry in the thieving raccoon's saga, is coming to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on February 5th, reports the PlayStation Blog. The game will be available both at retail and for download on PlayStation Network on launch day. Thieves in Time is also part of Sony's Cross-Buy program; players who purchase the PS3 version of the game will be able to download the Vita version for free. Pre-ordering from participating retailers will also net buyers two parachute skins and a costume skin for Murray the hippopotamus. Salim, a retired thief decked out in billowing green pants, a big white mustache and beard and a massive turban, brings with him the ability to quickly to spiral up ropes and columns using his Cobra Climb, a flying carpet he can use to drift down from jumps and a whirlwind attack. The level in Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time that we were shown during the demo takes place about halfway through the game, said Frank Simon, senior managing producer at Sony Computer Entertainment of America. Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, the Sanzaru Games-developed fourth entry in the Sly Cooper series, has been hit with a delay to February 2013, according to Sony. The game had previously been scheduled for release this year; in fact, Sony's official listing for it still shows a release date of 2012. Sony showed the trailer below during the livestream that followed today's Gamescom 2012 press conference. The end of the trailer reveals a date of "early 2013" for Thieves in Time. Sony announced at its press briefing that Thieves in Time would be one of the first games under the company's new Cross Buy program, in which anybody who buys a PS3/Vita cross-platform game on PS3 also gets a copy on Vita for free. When Sanzaru Games approached Sucker Punch Productions with a potential demo level for a new Sly Cooper game, Sucker Punch knew the series would be in good hands. Sucker Punch had moved on to the Infamous games, and Sanzaru – a dedicated group of Sly Cooper fans – were anxious for a new title that Sucker Punch didn't have time to make. "When we saw their build, we were blown away," Sly Cooper producer Caley Roberts told Polygon. "They got a development kit and they built a level without any of our official assets and pitched it to us. We totally loved it." Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is coming to PS Vita despite initial plans for a PlayStation 3-only release, it was revealed today on the official PlayStation blog. "A lot of people have been asking me about the PlayStation Vita, they feel that Sly would be a great game to take on the go," wrote Glen Egan, president of Sanzaru Games. "And I completely agree! SO that being said I can now announce that Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will be available soon on BOTH the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita!"
