Sniper Elite V2 goes free on Steam for a day

Sniper Elite V2, the World War II shooter from Rebellion Developments, is available free on Steam for the next 24 hours, the studio announced today. Any Steam user who downloads a copy of the Windows PC title by 1 p.m. EDT tomorrow, June 5, will have it forever. Rebellion originally launched Sniper Elite V2 in the spring of 2012 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and in May 2013 on Wii U. Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army series headed to consoles

Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army, Rebellion Developments' undead-focused spinoff of its Sniper Elite series, is headed to consoles, creative director Jason Kingsley announced today. "We can't say much yet, but it won't just be a re-package of the first two games," creative director Jason Kingsley said, "there will be plenty of new content to get stuck into." Sniper Elite V2 on Wii U omits online functionality, downloadable content

The Wii U version of tactical shooter Sniper Elite V2 is missing online features and add-on content present in the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the title that launched last spring, reports My Nintendo News. The game's was released last week for Nintendo's new console, and not long after a screenshot posted to Miiverse of its title screen revealed Sniper Elite V2's missing components. The Wii U version omits online play for co-op, all multiplayer modes and leaderboards. Also missing is post-launch downloadable content released in the year since V2's initial release. This DLC included additional single-player missions and a competitive multiplayer mode. Rebellion Developments' World War 2 tactical shooter Sniper Elite V2 will be available for Wii U tomorrow at retail in North America, publisher 505 Games announced today. Sniper Elite V2 sets players in Berlin during the second world war, tasking them with saving or sniping members of Adolf Hitler's V-2 rocket-building program. The title features the "X-Ray Kill Cam" present in other versions of the game, in which players can view the shots they take in slow-motion and view the full, graphic impact of their bullets on their enemies. Sniper Elite 3 "expected" to release in 2014 on Xbox, PS3, next-gen consoles

Sniper Elite 3 is "expected" to release in 2014 on Xbox, PlayStation 3 and next generation consoles, publisher 505 Games announced today. The publisher believes in the "extremely high potential" of the Sniper Elite brand following claimed Sniper Elite V2 sales of 1.1 million copies and earning $28.6 million in revenues since its launch in April until December 2012. Sniper Elite V2 launched last April for Windows PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and is set for a Wii U release this Spring. Polygon reported last month that the developer, Rebellion Developments is creating and publishing Sniper Elite V2: Nazi Zombie Army. The zombie spin off is available to purchase now as a Steam exclusive.
