Street Fighter X Tekken will receive a free "ver. 2013" update Jan. 29, and its developers revealed the final set of changes coming in the patch to Tekken and special characters, as well as gameplay, today on the game's official blog (translated by Shoryuken). Shoryuken identifies significant changes to throws: the animation is two frames shorter, and a successful normal throw (not in the air) eliminates recoverable damage. Mega Man's close standing hard punch animation is half as long as in the original game, and Pac-Man is completely invincible during the first nine frames of his EX flip kick. Check out the full list of changes on Shoryuken. Capcom previously announced two other sets of tweaks included in the ver. 2013 update; you can see them here and here.

You'd point out the irony of worrying about how a video game looks on a shelf, but you love them too much to tell them how to live their lives or spend their money. And come Christmastime, you figure that you might as well be an enabler, buying them yet another big box o' goodies that they'll somehow find the space for. Because let's face it: Whether they're getting a badass in-game weapon or a real-life replica of it — or both! — you secretly kind of want it yourself, too. Speaking of irony, none of the items listed below are actually known as "special" editions. Instead, their makers describe them as "limited," "collector's" and even "ultimate" packages. Whatever you call them, they're undeniably impressive collections of games and game paraphernalia, and they have something else...

Capcom released a new free app today called Street Fighter X Tekken Gauntlet, a game that adds all kinds of twists and turns to the Street Fighter X Tekken formula. The game is different to the mobile version of Street Fighter X Tekken, which is aptly named Street Fighter X Tekken Mobile. The free Gauntlet version gives players the choice of playing as Ryu or Kazuya only, and they are then pitted against the SFXT Mobile cast in a series of one-on-one battles. Aside from the format change, a number of different elements have also been thrown in to change the way battles work. Players will be fighting against a timer, which begins at 30 seconds. The goal is for the player to survive for as long as possible. The game helps players extend their playtime by throwing random challenges at...
