The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky trilogy coming to Windows 8 in Japan this April

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky role-playing games will be optimized and released for Windows 8 PCs in Japan this April, developer Falcom announced. The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky titles will cost 3,990 yen ($43) each and will be released in Japan only on April 12. Players will be able to snag all three games: the original 2004 Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, 2006 PlayStation Portable sequel Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky Second Chapter and 2007's Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the Third. All three titles will be optimized to run on both lower-quality laptops and high-end PCs. Latest Legend of Heroes game shaped by player feedback and the need to shorten boss fights

Falcom's latest Legend of Heroes title, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Nayuta, was shaped by player feedback from previous title Trails in the Sky, including complaints that boss battles dragged on for too long, according to the developer's president Toshihiro Kondo in a recent interview with Siliconera. "We get feedback from fans of the Trails series that they really love the story, but the battles take a very long time," he said. "In order to address that and please the fans, we wanted to make more of an action based battle system." Nihon Falcom, the 31-year-old game developer behind classic role-playing game series like Ys and The Legend of Heroes, has one incredibly ambitious New Year's resolution in mind. In the year 2013, their plan is to make a full-on 3D RPG...on consoles, no less, despite the fact they've developed almost exclusively for the PSP since 2006.
