The Walking Dead: 400 Days review: bits and pieces

It's not just that the studio is able to spin five taut, well-told narratives in around 15 to 20 minutes a pop. It's that each is filled with more fully realized characters than most games can gin up over the span of hours. The episode begins with a selection of photos tacked to a bulletin board, each representing one of five stories that can be played in any order. After that selection, little time is wasted on exposition: Within moments, I was thrown into a tense (often zombie-centric) situation I had to navigate via some of the hard choices that are practically a Walking Dead trademark. Opinion: Every character deserves to be the protagonist of his or her life

The problem is, life doesn't quite work like that. Life isn't The Truman Show. In our lives we are far more aware of the stories that surround us. Our personal tales are not the only ones of consequence, the only narratives that can truly cause change. Games are finally bringing that idea to the forefront of these experiences - worlds are replete with more than one story. The Walking Dead: 400 Days launch trailer introduces the next episode of the undead nightmare

Telltale Games has unveiled the launch trailer for The Walking Dead: 400 Days - currently being hosted by IGN - which will give you a taste of the first episode in the new series. As was announced yesterday, the game is scheduled to arrive July 3 for Windows PC and Mac via Steam, while an Xbox Live Arcade version will be available come July 5, followed by an iOS release on July 11. The game launches on PlayStation Network even earlier than that in North America, hitting on July 2; however, European users can expect it a few days later on July 10.

Don Mattrick, Nintendo, Saints Row, Darkspore, Precursor Games: Speed Run

Microsoft's Don Mattrick is leaving the company to become to new CEO of Zynga. Nintendo was denied any claims to the WiiU.com domain. We talked to a Saints Row modder about his work with Volition on official modding tools for the titles. Telltale Games has released a trailer for 400 Days, a new episode for its critically acclaimed adventure series The Walking Dead. The downloadable episode features five different stories, each focusing on a different character or set of characters. Last night at the Sony E3 press conference, it was revealed that The Walking Dead: 400 Days would be coming to PlayStation Vita with a bundle that included the complete first season of the game, along with some bonus content. The Walking Dead: 400 Days headed to PS Vita, bundle hits in August (update)

The Walking Dead: 400 Days, a new episode in Telltale Games' modern adventure series, is headed this summer to PlayStation Vita, Sony revealed today during its E3 press conference. A new PlayStation Vita bundle coming in August will include The Walking Dead season 1, 400 Days and bonus content. No details were offered about the game, though Telltale recently began teasing something on Vine and a listing for "400 Days DLC" appeared recently in the Steam database. Update: Telltale tweeted that the The Walking Dead: 400 Days is headed to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Mac, Windows and the iOS App Store. According to a website linked in the tweet and the image posted in the tweet, the game will include five "stories of survival" and will be "available for download [in] July 2013."
