The launch trailer for Activision's shooter based on AMC TV series The Walking Dead has plenty of zombie-killing to go around. Set before the television show, it stars Daryl Dixon, who refuses to believe his older brother Merle is dead in a post-zombie-apocalypse world. In order to find him, however, he's going to have to deal with quite a few of the titular walking dead. The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct comes out tomorrow for Xbox 360, Wii U, PS3 and Windows.

A new behind-the-scenes video for The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct features the protagonists' voice actors, who reprise their characters on the TV series here in the game. Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker play Daryl Dixon and his older brother Merle respectively, and Survival Instinct follows the duo in their adventures before arriving at the city of Atlanta. In the video, Rooker and Reedus discuss their experience lending their voices to the game, and how it differs from playing their characters on TV. The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is out for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and Windows PC on March 19.

The offer is valid to PSN users in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, and although Sony's advertising it as taking place in the month of March, it has already begun. PlayStation Store purchases from today, Feb. 26, through April 1 will count toward the promotion. That also applies to renewing an annual PlayStation Plus subscription for $49.99: According to Pierre Gravereau, senior manager of digital distribution, you won't need to spend the extra penny to get $10 back. And there doesn't appear to be a limit to the amount of cash back you can accumulate. So if...

The Wii U version of Activision's first person shooter The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct won't see an Australian retail release due to low demand, Australian site Vooks reported today. "As with every game release, publishers decide which platforms to release based on customer demand. Unfortunately it wasn't there for the Wii U sku on The Walking Dead," Activision said in a statement to Vooks. The game based on the Walking Dead AMC TV series is set for release on March 19 and March 20 for Xbox 360, PS3 and Windows, in the U.S and Australia, respectively. It will be released on March 22 in the U.K. and March 26 in U.S. for Wii U. Polygon contacted Activision and Nintendo and will update as more information becomes available.

A trailer for Activision's The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, the first-person shooter based on the AMC TV show, was released exclusively on Entertainment Weekly today. The trailer features the TV show’s crossbow-wielding anti-hero Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and his brother Merle (Michael Rooker). Serving as a prequel to the TV series, players will take on the role of Daryl and will have a choice of going through the game with guns blazing or taking a stealth approach. Polygon reported last month that the game would be released on March 19 for Xbox 360, PS3 and Windows, a week earlier than its original release date of March 26. The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct will be released on March 22 in the U.K. and March 26 in U.S. for Wii U.

Activision's first-person shooter The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct will be released on March 26 in North America and March 29 in Europe, a representative for Activision told Polygon this morning. The game will be published for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC, as well as the Nintendo Wii U, the representative confirmed. According to Videogamer, the Wii U GamePad controller will be used to manage players' inventory. "[Inventory management is] super-streamlined on the Wii U pad," producer Glenn Gamble told the publication at a recent preview event in London. "Literally as you're playing you can be tapping items, dropping them, throwing them, equipping them, stuff like that. So the controls are just a lot more streamlined [on Wii U], but overall all three [versions] are pretty...

While Terminal Reality's The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is a very different kind of game from Telltale's The Walking Dead — it's a first-person shooter instead of a story-driven adventure game — both titles are about "choice and consequence," reports IGN. The studio isn't building a run-and-gun experience; instead, Terminal Reality is basing Survival Instinct on the Walking Dead AMC television series, in which the character of Rick Grimes almost dies at the hands of only three zombies. "That was, like, our goal from the get-go," senior artist Glenn Gamble told IGN on Up at Noon. "How do you make three walkers really, really threatening?" According to Gamble, Survival Instinct actively discourages engaging walkers directly with hand-to-hand combat or guns. But you'll be forced to...
