The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition review: a sign of promise

The Witcher 2's structure most closely resembles the Fable series You'll be forgiven some confusion for the first half hour of The Witcher 2 as it whips from scene to scene in the present and past. Eventually, the premise comes together: a King is dead, the witcher Geralt is blamed, and it's up to you to catch the killer and clear your name. Luckily, witching work, with its emphasis on combat magic, potion use, and general ass-kickery, is well suited to a life on the run in search of a kingslayer. This setup is somewhat misleading, though. Eve Online and Witcher comics coming from Dark Horse in 2014

Comic books based on CCP Games' Eve Online and Dust 514 as well as CD Projekt Red's The Witcher series will be available next year from Dark Horse Comics, the publisher announced today. Eve: True Stories will be written by Daniel Way (Deadpool,Wolverine: Origins) and drawn by Alejandro Aragon (Overlook, 28 Days Later), Tomm Coker (Daredevil Noir, Near Death), Federico Dallocchio (Batman: Arkham Unhinged, Suicide Squad), Dave Ross (Star Wars: The Crimson Empire Saga) and Mark McKenna (Star Wars: The Old Republic). It will be based on actual in-game events, centered around the fall of the Band of Brothers player alliance in 2009. The Witcher games on sale through GOG and Steam until Feb. 8

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition are now available half off on GOG and Steam until Feb. 8, CD Projekt Red announced. Both games are on sale in honor of the recent The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt announcement. The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut is available for $4.99, while the Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Editions is $9.99. Both games are available for Windows PC and Mac. The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt was confirmed yesterday via Game Informer's March 2013 issue. The game is expected to launch in 2014 on PC and "all high-end platforms available." The GOG and Steam sales will come to an end on Feb. 8 at 5:59 a.m. ET.
