Touch My Katamari review: Slow your roll

Vita launch title Touch My Katamari is the seventh Katamari Damacy installment. Katamari Damacy carried a near-unbearable amount of charm back in 2004, all whimsy and surrealism, piled on top of a clever, puzzle-action design that no other game had ever explored. Namco Bandai has now thoroughly explored the idea. Touch My Katamari shows its franchise's age at every turn. Some learned refinements shine through. The responsiveness and intuition of its controls — an occasional Katamari sticking point — are unsurpassed, and do a great deal to sell the multitude of inputs on the PS Vita. Namco Bandai discounting select games and DLC on PlayStation Network this month

Select games and downloadable content from Japanese developer and publisher Namco Bandai will be discounted on the PlayStation Network over the next month, according to a post on the PlayStation Blog. PlayStation Plus update brings NBA Jam: On Fire Edition free to subscribers as Holiday Essentials sale winds down

A Dec. 31 update to PlayStation Plus brought NBA Jam: On Fire Edition and Chronovolt free to Plus subscribers amid the final week of the Holiday Essentials sale, according to a post on the PlayStation Blog. Released in Oct. 2011, NBA Jam: On Fire Edition's arcade basketball action is regularly $19.99 for PlayStation 3 owners. Chronovolt, a steampunk-influenced puzzle platformer from Playerthree, released in December and offers gameplay reminiscent of Marble Madness for the PlayStation Vita.
