Trine 2 'Magic Mayhem' party mode is not likely to be seen in the future

Trine 2: Director's Cut developer Frozenbyte isn't likely to bring its previously planned "Magic Mayhem" party mode to the Wii U edition of the game, designer George Reith told Gaming Bolt. Magic Mayhem was initially planned to bring mini-games to the Wii U gamepad, says Reith; However, this was later scrapped to focus on the Dwarven Caverns levels, exclusive levels for the Wii U director's cut edition. "Magic Mayhem was something we intended to do and still is a possibility, but not a likelihood," he said. "The idea was to have small mini games that would really make use of the Wii U gamepad. In the end we had a lot of work with bringing the DLC up to the level of quality that we intended, so scrapping the Magic Mayhem for the launch window made sense." With the development of Trine...

Wii U eShop lets indie developers set their own price and sales times, says Trine 2 developer

Nintendo's Wii U eShop offers an indie-friendly system that allows independent developers to set their own prices and determine when they have sales, Trine 2: Director's Cut developer Frozenbyte's marketing manager Mikael Haveri told IGN. According to Haveri, the eShop operates in a similar manner to both Steam and Apple's Appstore, offering developers a level of freedom when distributing their games digitally. "That's what we love about the new eShop," said Haveri. "We have the power to price our products as we please, with just some basic guidelines from the big guys. The step to this is purely from Nintendo's side and they clearly see that [their] previous installments have not been up to par. We can set our own pricing and actually continuing on that by setting our own sales...
