Uncharted series creative director and writer Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog after 10 years with the developer, IGN reports. Citing numerous "trusted sources" close to Naughty Dog, IGN reports that Hennig was writing and leading the development of the next instalment of the Uncharted series for PlayStation 4 before her final day with the developer on March 3. According to IGN, sources claim the creative director was "forced out" of the company. Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, God of War: Ascension,The Last of Us and Lost Planet 3 are nominated for the Writers Guild of America Videogame Writing Award, the organization announced today. Story writers and scriptwriters Darby McDevitt, Mustapha Mahrach, Jean Guesdon, Jill Murray, Nicholas Grimwood and Mark Llabres Hill are nominated for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. Warner Bros. Sideshow Collectibles' upcoming action figure version of Uncharted's Nathan Drake looks like he's ready to climb and fight his way through the real world. Based on Drake's model from Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, the $159.99 figure stands 12 inches tall and weighs in at two pounds. It's expected to ship (for an additional $10) in August 2014. A 16.5-inch, Premium Format Drake figure is set for release in January 2014 for $349.99. Last year, Sideshow created a 22-in Diablo statue. To celebrate the second anniversary of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception's release on PlayStation 3, developer Naughty Dog is releasing all of the game's multiplayer maps — including a brand new map, Dry Dock — for free. Players can download the Flashback Map Pack 1, Flashback Map Pack 2 and Drake's Deception Map Pack from Uncharted 3's in-game store and enjoy Dry Docks in all competitive playlists and custom games, Naughty Dog wrote on its official blog. The release hits alongside a new patch, bringing Uncharted 3 to version 1.18, that brings extensive balance changes, gameplay tweaks and map adjustments. Today's Amazon Gold Box is all about video games, with the Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception 320 GB PlayStation 3 bundle on sale all day and new Lightning Deals every few hours. The PS3 package regularly costs $299.99, but is available for $250 today. PlayStation Plus Instant Collection gets LittleBigPlanet Karting, Uncharted 3 and XCOM: Enemy Unknown June 11

PlayStation Plus members will be able to download LittleBigPlanet Karting, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception and XCOM: Enemy Unknown free through the service June 11, Sony announced today. Both LittleBigPlanetKarting and XCOM: Enemy Unknown will sell for $39.99 this month for non-PS Plus subscribers. Earlier this week, Sony announced that Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Machinarium, Orc Attack, Saints Row: The Third and Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward would join the Instant Game Collection in June. The games will replace Infamous 2, LittleBigPlanet 2 and Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One in the Instant Game Collection, so if you're interested in those games, you'll have to sign up for PlayStation Plus or add them to your cart before June 11.

Naughty Dog will release new downloadable content for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception's multiplayer mode that will direct proceeds to charity for the prevention of animal cruelty, the developer announced on its official blog. The charitable DLC is part of a month full of animal-themed content. Players will be able to purchase shirts and weapon skins emblazoned with the images of Pogo and Trumpet (pictured) — the real-life dogs of Naughty Dog co-presidents Cristophe Balestra and Evan Wells — with proceeds of sales going to "various animal related charities." Multiplayer in the Uncharted franchise has been a contentious affair. Some players love the addition; others feel it can be an unnecessary distraction from the game's chief appeal, its rich, character-driven campaign. While the developers at Naughty Dog are still committed to providing multiplayer for their games, they're starting to experiment with different ways to deliver that experience.
