Uncharted 3 players earn double cash for multiplayer during April events

In an effort to make April, which is also Prevention of Cruelty to Animals month, "even more outstanding for players," Naughty Dog will hold double cash events for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception every Friday through Tuesday, the developer announced on its official website. You can check out the full schedule below. Naughty Dog recently announced downloadable content in honor of April's theme, the proceeds of which will go to animal-related charities. Players can also purchase shirts and weapon skins featuring images of the real-life pets of Naughty Dogs co-presidents Cristophe Balestra and Evan Wells. Uncharted 3 celebrates Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month with charity DLC

Naughty Dog will release new downloadable content for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception's multiplayer mode that will direct proceeds to charity for the prevention of animal cruelty, the developer announced on its official blog. The charitable DLC is part of a month full of animal-themed content. Players will be able to purchase shirts and weapon skins emblazoned with the images of Pogo and Trumpet (pictured) — the real-life dogs of Naughty Dog co-presidents Cristophe Balestra and Evan Wells — with proceeds of sales going to "various animal related charities." The Pogo and Trumpet items will be available only during the month of April. Naughty Dog will also add animal-themed tournament rewards — like a Shade Drake Raptor Mask and Mr. Croc shirt — as well as paid multiplayer items...

Uncharted 3 gets free multiplayer as part of broader Naughty Dog experiment

Multiplayer in the Uncharted franchise has been a contentious affair. Some players love the addition; others feel it can be an unnecessary distraction from the game's chief appeal, its rich, character-driven campaign. While the developers at Naughty Dog are still committed to providing multiplayer for their games, they're starting to experiment with different ways to deliver that experience. Today, Sony Computer Entertainment America and developer Naughty Dog launched a free-to-play version of Uncharted 3's multiplayer. Players can sample the competitive elements of the shooter's gameplay without spending a penny. But once they want to level up their character past a certain point, or play the cooperative modes, they'll have to start paying cash, ranging from $5 to $20 to buy level...

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception free to play multiplayer may be coming to the PlayStation 3, revealed by the PlayStation blog earlier today. The information was released on an official PlayStation blog entry "The Drop: Week of February 25th 2013 New Releases," under a section titled "Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Multiplayer (Free to Play)." Apart from a quick blurb about Uncharted 3, the entry didn't offer any further details about the possible free to play plans. The "Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Multiplayer (Free to Play)" section was shortly pulled from the blog entry. We have contacted Sony for comment and will update as more information becomes available. According to Naughty Dog's official blog late last year, an Uncharted 3 multiplayer announcement was due for early 2013....

Uncharted 3 gets festive with Present Head Drake and other holiday gifts

Naughty Dog is injecting the holiday spirit into Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception multiplayer this week, bringing new gifts to players that include a gift-wrapped head for Nathan Drake and items decorated with the cheerful face of the developer's co-president. The holiday-themed update, which goes live today Dec. 18 and runs until Jan. 8, will add Present Head Drake, the custom character shirt featuring Naughty Dog's Christophe Balestra and a similarly themed weapon wrapped in candy canes and Balestra face textures. PlayStation 3 bundled with a year of PlayStation Plus being sold on Amazon

Amazon is selling an exclusive PlayStation 3 bundle that includes a year's subscription to PlayStation Plus. The bundle costs $299.99 and features the original PlayStation 3 320 GB slim-model coupled with a one year membership to Sony's game library service. The online retailer is also offering two more 320 GB bundles that include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 or Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception instead of the PS Plus membership, as well as a 250 GB Uncharted 3 Game of the Year Edition bundle. An Assassin's Creed 3 bundle including the 500 GB console model will be available beginning tomorrow. All four bundles cost $299.99.
