Indie dev collective Juegos Rancheros offers guidance on going indie

Texas-based indie game development collective Juegos Rancheros is holding a free one-day symposium to offer guidance to developers on how to achieve sustainable independent game development. App Store names its 'Best of 2012' games for iPhone and iPad

Apple has selected what it calls the year's best releases for iOS, naming platformer Rayman Jungle Run and puzzle game The Room the best iPhone and iPad games of 2012, respectively. Multiplayer word game Letterpress for iPhone and space adventure Waking Mars for iPad were named as game of the year runners-up, with the editors at the App Store highlighting other key 2012 releases in various categories. Steam Greenlight approves third wave of games, first round of software titles

A third wave of 13 games has been approved for Steam through Greenlight today, along with the first round of software titles to pass through the service, Valve announced. Titles received approval by obtaining either the highest number of positive votes or "an incredible upward trajectory" since creators posted them to Greenlight. This latest set brings the total number of games published through Greenlight since it launched in August to 50, along with the six new software titles added today.
