Minecraft XBLA release date: May 9th, more coming in 'Arcade Next' promotion

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, Fable Heroes and more are coming to Xbox Live Arcade this spring as part of a month-long "Arcade Next" promotion starting next month, Microsoft has announced. A new, high-profile game will be released on the platform every Wednesday from April 18th through May 9th.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, Fable Heroes and more are coming to Xbox Live Arcade as part of a month-long "Arcade Next" promotion starting next month, Microsoft has announced. A new, high-profile game will be released on the platform every Wednesday from April 18th through May 9th:

• April 18th — Trials Evolution, 1200 Microsoft Points
• April 25th — Bloodforge, 1200 Microsoft Points
• May 2nd — Fable Heroes, 800 Microsoft Points
• May 9th — Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, 1600 Microsoft Points

Each game will also award its most thorough players 400 Gamerscore, as will all new games released after the promotion. Notably missing is Polytron's puzzle-platformer Fez, which now seems likely to be included in the annual Summer of Arcade promotion.
