Phantasy Star Online 2 will launch on the PS Vita in 2013, Sonic Team producer Sakai Satoshi revealed during Sony's "PlayStation Vita Game Heaven" webcast yesterday evening. The action-MMO was originally slated for a PC release only, but Satoshi said he wanted the title on a home platform, according to a translation from Andriasang. Satoshi also said that the PS Vita version will share servers with its PC counterpart, and that players can use the same characters on both versions.

You can check out the first video of the game running on Vita below. It certainly looks like the Phantasy Star Online that devoured our free time wholesale on the Dreamcast, only with more jumping. We've contacted Sega to see if they have any western release plans for the title.
