Summer of Arcade kicks off July 18 with 400 Microsoft Point-back deal

Xbox Live Summer of Arcade 2012 kicks off on July 18 with Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD.

This year's Xbox Live Summer of Arcade begins on July 18 with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD, Major Nelson announced this morning.

Releases include:

  • July 18: Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD, the twelfth installment in the Tony Hawk skateboarding franchise featuring hi-def levels from Pro Skater 1 and 2 (1200 Microsoft Points)
  • July 25: Wreckateer, a Kinect game that asks players to demolish Goblin-riddled castles in a medieval world (800 Microsoft Points)
  • August 1: Deadlight, a cinematic puzzle platformer set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland (1200 Microsoft Points)
  • August 8: Hybrid, 5th Cell's online shooter (1200 Microsoft Points)
  • August 15: Dust: An Elysian Tail, an action RPG developed almost entirely by one man (1200 Microsoft Points).

This year's special deal offers a 400 Microsoft Point return with the purchase of any three of these titles. In 2011, Summer of Arcade participants who purchased all five titles netted a free copy of Crimson Alliance, a co-op action RPG in which players square off against an evil goddess.

Last year, Summer of Arcade featured the Signal Studios' Toy Soldiers sequel Toy Soldiers: Cold War, dark-shaded and stylized UFO simulator Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, Fruit Ninja Kinect, Supergiant's wildly popular Bastion, and Ubisoft's god-game From Dust.
