Dead Island Riptide announced.

Deep Silver today announced the development of a new entry to their Dead Island franchise.

Dead Island Riptide is currently in full development by Techland for consoles and PCs. An extensive reveal of the game is planned for later this summer.

The first Dead Island game was released last fall to mediocre reviews, but built up a strong following of fans. The game first garnered attention with its eye-popping CGI trailer that depicted a vacationing couple and their young daughter being attacked and killed by zombies.

The trailer lead to a movie deal with Lionsgate.
