Fight Night studio developing EA's first UFC game

EA Canada is developing the latest UFC title for the publisher.

The next instalment in the Ultimate Fighting Championship series will be developed by EA Canada, the team behind EA's Fight Night franchise, the publisher confirmed.

The game will be worked on by a new division within the studio, dubbed the Fighting Team. This will be the first UFC title published by EA since it received the rights to the franchise from THQ last month for an "undisclosed cash payment."

This follows last month's Electronic Arts E3 2012 press briefing, in which Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White announced a deal between both companies for a multi-year, multi-product partnership

It is unclear which when EA's newest title will release, and how this may affect the Fight Night series.
