'World of Warcraft' Recruit-a-Friend now lets players become mounts

"World of Warcraft" Recruit-a-Friend program now lets players become mounts.

World of Warcraft's Recruit-a-Friend program now allows participants to transform into the Obsidian Nightwing mount for other players to ride, Blizzard announced today.

The Recruit-a-Friend program, a WoW referral system that rewards players for bringing in new ones via free Starter Edition accounts, has added the mount as a substitute for the typical summoned ones, replacing the now-retired X-53 Touring Rocket reward mount.

Recruiting via the program will net referers the Obsidian Nightwing for free and 30 free days of WoW if the referred player upgrades to the game's full edition. Both players have access to friend-to-friend summoning and gain bonus experience points when playing together.
