'Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn' rises from the ashes of the restructured MMO
"Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn" rises from the ashes of "Final Fantasy XIV."
The reboot of troubled MMO Final Fantasy XIV, informally known as "Version 2.0," will be released as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Square Enix announced today.
"Since announcing our plans for the future of the title last October, we have been working tirelessly to include all of the elements that we have promised in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn," said producer and director Naoki Yoshida in a press release. "This new title not only becomes a symbol of a completely new Final Fantasy XIV, but also marks the beginning of a new stage as the latest title in the Final Fantasy series."
Final Fantasy XIV has been rebuilt from the ground up, and A Realm Reborn focuses on the titular concept of rebirth. The game is slated to release for PlayStation 3 and PC.
