The sequel to the Windows freeware game, Knytt, is being released on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita later this year.

The sequel to the Windows freeware game, Knytt, is being released on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita later this year.

Developer Nifflas is partnering with Green Hill and Ripstone Publishing to release Knytt Underground on the PlayStation devices. A Windows, Mac, and Linux version is also in the works.

Knytt developer, Nicklas Nygren of Nifflas said: "Knytt Underground is the biggest game I've ever developed and is the first game where I feel that I have a story to tell. It's about the big questions; trying to understand life and our place in it –and failing completely."

The original Knytt and Knytt Stories are both available as freeware for Windows.
