Xbox Live has been down for over an hour, and Microsoft is actively investigating the cause of the disconnection.

Reports of users being booted from Xbox Live begun pouring in around a little over an hour ago — around the same time that the official Xbox Live support Twitter account begun responding to complaints that folks couldn't connect to the platform. The errors don't seem to be tied to the U.S., as complaints from other territories are being sent to Xbox Live support on Twitter.

A representative on the Xbox Support Twitter account states, "We are aware of the issues some users are having with Xbox LIVE and are actively investigating." We'll let you know once they get everything figured out.

Update: Xbox Live is back up and running, though Microsoft has given no cause for the outage. Game on!
