The Simpsons: Tapped Out, EA Mobile's Springfield-building game, will be back on the iTunes App Store this week, Electronic Arts announced today during its Gamescom press conference.

It is already live on the German App Store, and will arrive globally this week.

The game originally launched in North America on March 1st, but was quickly taken down due to overwhelming demand. EA's chief operating officer, Peter Moore, came out on stage and announced Tapped Out's return with an image of Bart writing, "I will not under-provision servers," over and over on a blackboard.

In The Simpsons: Tapped Out, players rebuild the town of Springfield after Homer causes a nuclear meltdown, earning experience points and currency.
