Sony confirms Dante, Sackboy, Spike, and Ratchet & Clank for 'PlayStation All-Stars'

Sony confirms Dante, Sackboy, Spike, and Ratchet & Clank for PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale

The roster of Sony and SuperBot Entertainment's PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale grows by four today with the official confirmation of Dante from the new Devil May Cry, Sackboy from LittleBigPlanet, Spike from Ape Escape and Ratchet & Clank from, well, a whole lot of Ratchet & Clank games.

No surprises there, as those four characters were recently leaked alongside a few still unconfirmed fighters: Sir Daniel from MediEvil, Nariko from Heavenly Sword, and Raiden from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Still, it's nice to see Sony confirm their inclusion at Gamescom.

In a quartet of new gameplay videos, Sony shows off the fighting techniques employed by Dante, Sackboy(s), Spike, and Ratchet & Clank. They also show off a new stage, Stowaways, which combines Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception with BioShock Infinite in a sky-bound mash-up.

Sony recently pushed back the release date of PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale to November 20th. The fighting game will be one of the first to take advantage of Sony's new Cross Buy promotion, which offers a free copy of the PlayStation Vita version for players who purchase the PlayStation 3 version of PlayStation All-Stars.

Here are four looks at what's new in PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale.

Update: Sony released nine screenshots at Gamescom. We've put them in the gallery below.
