Kirk and Spock are returning in a Star Trek video game based on the Star Trek universe of J.J. Abrams' 2009 reboot.

Currently in development by Ontario-based studio Digital Extremes (Bioshock 2, Dark Sector, The Darkness 2), the Star Trek game will be set after the events of the 2009 film. Players will uncover new areas of the Enterprize and explore never before seen parts of the galaxy.

Actors Chris Prine and Zachary Quinto, who played the roles of Captain Kirk and Spock respectively, will also be lending their voices to the characters in the game.

The action-adventure is designed with asymmetrical co-op and is currently in development for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PC. The game is expected to release in early 2013.

The trailer can be viewed below.
