Gamescom 2012 has begun, with today being the first of four public days. Thankfully, our spry correspondent Griffin McElroy checked out the massive convention yesterday, when it was only open to members of the media.

Gamescom 2012 has begun, with today being the first of four public days. Thankfully, our spry correspondent Griffin McElroy checked out the massive convention yesterday, when it was only open to members of the media. And people wearing giant, furry Moshi Monsters costumes, apparently.

Griffin took a grand tour of multiple expo halls filled with huge booths from publishers of all kinds, and managed to stay relatively sweat-free... until 10:39 a.m., at least. We wish him the best of luck in that ongoing quest, especially now that the show is welcoming an expected crowd of 250,000 attendees.
