In Sleeping Dogs' newest gameplay video, released today by publisher Square Enix, protagonist Wei Shen investigates a serial killer.
The video, embedded below, illustrates a part of the game that hasn't been highlighted much: crime scene investigations. As a cop on an undercover assignment with a gang in Hong Kong, Shen faces some unique challenges in solving this case. He can't blow his cover, so he dons a couple of disguises to gain access to areas that would otherwise be cut off, and then examines a few bodies to get started. The video also showcases the game's ambient conversations, as in-game characters discuss the havoc you've wrought in the game world.
Shen stays connected to his handler with his PDA, and the fact that he uses that instead of a smartphone leaves us wondering if this game takes place in 2012 or 2002.
Sleeping Dogs will be out for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on August 14th.
