EA announces "The Sims 3: Seasons" coming this fall.

Today at EA's summer showcase, the company announced that The Sims 3: Seasons expansion pack is in development and will be available this fall.

The pack features seasonable celebrations and dramatic weather effects. Seasonal events are unique to every season and come with unique Sim interactions. Sims can now explore oceans and beaches in the heat of summer and snowboard snow hills in winter. Seasons will transition naturally over the course of a year.

Players who preorder Seasons will receive the Ice Lounge Community lot, featuring twelve pieces of furniture carved from solid ice. The furniture can be placed in any world from The Sims 3 and used in any season.
