'Rock Band' developer working on new real-time combat game
Harmonix's new IP begins to piece together.
Harmonix, the studio behind rhythm game titles Rock Band and Dance Central, is hiring for a new real-time combat game, according to a recent job listing on Gamasutra.
The listing for "combat designer" states the studio is seeking someone to "create real-time, single-player combat experiences for a brand new IP on next-generation hardware."
According to the listing this is a project unlike anything Harmonix has ever done before.
Last month director of communications and brand management, John Drake, confirmed on the official Harmonix podcast that the team is working on "three and/or more" original IPs, some of which are not "full-on rhythm action games."
"I can definitely confirm that the overwhelming majority of the positions on our site are for unannounced AAA projects that are new IP," Drake later told Polygon.
