'Uncharted' film loses second director, 'National Treasure' scriptwriters begin re-write
Neil Burger leaves the project, the second director to do so.
The feature film adaptation of Uncharted no longer has a director attached, after Neil Burger — who last year took over from David O'Russell — reportedly left the project, Variety reports.
The film, Drake's Fortune, is now being re-written for Sony by Marianne and Cormac Wibberley who previously developed the script behind Disney's National Treasure franchise. No new director is set to take the helm until a new script is completed.
The title is being produced by Charles Roven and Alex Gartner for Atlas Entertainment, and Avi and Ari Arad through Arad Prods.
