Capcom brought a new Lost Planet 3 demo to Gamescom earlier this month, showing off a cover system and other new content, and the publisher recently released a video of its full presentation from the convention.
Footage from the demo appeared in Lost Planet 3's Gamescom trailer, which hinted that not everything on E.D.N. III is as it seems. The lengthy section of gameplay, which Capcom's Kenji Oguro played while producer Andrew Szymanski narrated, sees protagonist Jim Peyton take on a small Akrid called the Fire Wasp and a boss-sized one named the Spitter.
The cover system in Lost Planet 3 comes in handy during segments inside a Fire Wasp nest, but Peyton is left with nowhere to hide once the Spitter appears outdoors. Instead, Jim must do what he can to fend off it scorpion-like tail and stream of paralyzing goo until his Utility Rig arrives to even the odds.
Lost Planet 3 is set for release in early 2013 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. Check out our Gamescom preview for more details.
