'F1 2012' Champions Mode lets players go head-to-head with top drivers

F1 2012 gets a new mode in which users go head-to-head against the champs.

F1 2012's Champions Mode will let users go head-to-head with six FIA Formula One World Champions in individual race scenarios, Codemasters announced today.

Players will take on the six champions in turn, beginning with Kimi Räikkönen, then followed by Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher.

In the Kimi Räikkönen challenge, the user will begin the race on new tires and attempt to overtake Kimi and other rivals who will drive on worn rubber with three laps to go.

Champions Mode will be playable at next week's Gamescom. F1 2012 will release to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC this September.
