Zen Pinball 2 is set for a September 4th release on PlayStation 3 and Vita alongside a new table based on a PopCap game, according to a press release from developer Zen Studios.
Zen Pinball 2 will be available as a standalone product and as a free update for existing Zen Pinball and Marvel Pinball owners. Its 26 tables will have trophies tailored to each, and all will be will be free-to-play in a demo. The full game will include split-screen, hot seat, and online multiplayer, as well as 3D support and worldwide tournaments.
"We are happy to upgrade physics, provide new trophies and introduce compelling new social features and more to all of our existing players at no charge," said Mel Kirk, Zen Studios vice president of marketing and public relations. "We have really focused on keeping the community intact, offering compelling new features and connecting the cross-platform experience between the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita."
Alongside Zen Pinball 2, Zen Studios will release a new table a table "based on one of PopCap Games' mega hits," and we think the obvious choice is Peggle. The probably Peggle table will also see release via Xbox Live Arcade on September 5th as DLC for Pinball FX 2.
The unnamed table will be playable at PopCap's PAX Prime booth at the end of this month, and Polygon will be there bring you all the news.
