"The Secret World" will debut its first raid encounter at Gamescom.

Funcom will debut the first raid encounter for The Secret World at Gamescom next week, the company announced today.

The battle will take place in ruins of New York City, culminating in a showdown against a giant sewer-dwelling monster in Times Square, according to a press release from Funcom. This description is parallel to the events depicted in a CGI trailer released last summer.

Funcom will be demoing the raid, along with new content planned for release in the coming months, in behind-closed-doors presentation for press only at Gamescom.

The Secret World released in North America and Europe on July 3rd for PC.
