Tryst is an upcoming real-time strategy game, and its developers, Blue Giant Interactive, released gameplay footage today in advance of its impending release.
In Tryst, humans are fighting with an insect-like alien race, the Zali, over control of a planet called Ishtonia IV — or, more specifically, the precious resource on the planet. In this future war, lasers are your friends. Blue Giant is placing emphasis on the fiction to ground and drive the strategic gameplay.
Tryst offers a tweaked version of the standard base-building RTS experience, and Blue Giant hopes that the very different playable factions and detailed backstory will help to set it apart. Tryst launches this Friday, September 14th, on PC; it will be available on Steam and Green Man Gaming. Check out the video below, along with some screenshots.
